Three Bulb Forcing Vases

Handmade Ceramic Bulb Forcing Vase

$24.00Price

This Bulb Forcing Vase will showcase your cherished bulbs in all their glory. This vase was made in fdp studio+shop, just outside of Pittsburgh, PA, wheel-thrown from caramel-colored stoneware clay and finished with a crisp white liner glaze.

The design suspends your bulb above water, encouraging the roots to cascade into the water below, ensuring optimal growth and blooming potential in any season. The approximate size is 4.5" wide X 2.75 " high. Each handmade vase is unique. Please allow us to choose for you.

PRO-TIPS: Choose hyacinths or paperwhites for optimal forcing, as tulips, daffodils, and crocus are less reliable. Fill the vase ¾ with water, positioning the bulb just above the water, ensuring roots grow into it.

Refrigerate for 8-12 weeks, with roots appearing in 2-3 weeks. Transition to a cool, low-light location for a week before moving to a warmer spot to avoid stunted growth.

Add water as needed and enjoy the blooms. If pre-chilled bulbs are used, follow the same process after chilling, providing a transition period for optimal results.
